Peterborough United’s 1900+ traveling fans were rewarded yesterday as their side recorded an emphatic 4-1 victory at Portman Road against promotion rivals Ipswich Town.

First-half goals from Ivan Toney and Sammy Szmodics were followed up in the second period by Sikiri Dembele and another from Szmodics as Posh sailed into a 4-0 lead.

James Norwood scored a consolation for the Tractor Boys from the spot but Ipswich were comfortably beaten in front of their own fans.

It was Posh’s fourth successive victory in a row in the league and it has seen them move up to third in the Sky Bet League One table.

Something seems to have clicked at the football club over the last few weeks and there is a real sense of unity between not just the players, but the fans as well.

Following yesterday’s excellent victory on the road, several Posh players took to Twitter to share their feelings on a brilliant afternoon’s work:

Jack Taylor has been brilliant since he joined the club from National League side Barnet and he shared these two tweets after the game.

Josh Knight acknowledged the performance of the team and described Sammy Szmodics as being on fire. He isn’t wrong!

Posh’s main man just can’t stop scoring!

Joe Ward was pleased with the performance and described Posh’s fans as “brilliant.”

It’s fair to say that Ipswich Town fans weren’t the biggest fans of Sammy Szmodics. Do we care? NO!

And finally, in case you didn’t see it. Here is perhaps one of the strangest clips you might see from Quest TV talking about Posh’s front three.
